Anna Raafat - Co-founder - Inncivio

Banks aren't helping us understand our finances any better. So we miss out and so do they.

Anna Raafat is behind the team solving this. inncivio have built a tech layer that increases the revenue per user for fintech platforms. By understanding user data and behaviour, imagine being guided through your financial apps (think investment or banking) but actually being informed and making the best decisions - this is what Anna referred to as a 'revenue enablement layer' for fintechs.

We spoke about:

- Being an early employee in a startup right through to growth or exit is an invaluable experience in going on to become a founder. You learn a tonne, you work relentlessly without the (yet) pressure of investors and boards; plus you find out what failure and standing back up feels like.

- Fintech as an area. Still a hugely valuable industry and despite being highly competitive (particularly in the UK), continues to produce some the most valuable exits. Worth $95.6 billion in investment during 2024.

- We spoke about some the disruptors of our time and experiences built around users. Monzo Bank, Revolut and Yonder were all mentioned.

- Dynamic user experiences and interfaces. Something I'm hugely interested in and invested into last year. We've typically build single user interfaces that has relied on a feedback cycle of understanding what does and doesn't work and then adding it to a product roadmap. Technology today is headed into dynamic interfaces based on the user demographic. With inncivio, we could see this as being able to differentiate a trading interface for an experienced trader vs a novice.

- Assembling your team of talent. At pre-seed, investors are looking at the founders but also the founders ability to identify the incoming talent. Some have their team lined up, others a strategy to make it work. Either way, it's a key part of the strategy - because after all - ideas are great, execution is better.
