Breakfast with founders 🥐 Yesterday I met with Mohamed Aziz
Mohamed is the co-founder of enara, a platform to connect creators with local brands and enlighten a lucrative partnership through their content and audience connection.
We spoke about:
- Finding problems in the spaces you operate in. Mohamed started his career in big brand go to market and distribution. He found that smaller brands looked to them as examples, but simply couldn’t afford to operate in that manner.
- In comes Brimore, Mo’s first business based in Egypt that ultimately led him to raise over $25m in venture capital funding. A solution on a problem he found.
- Understanding market differences and dynamics within a similar space. enara is Mo’s second business and this time he’s starting up in the UK. We discussed differences in the operating model that needs to be accounted for. In Egypt, he built a vertically integrated model that gave him full control. The viability of this at early stages in Western markets changes.
- The role of VCs during the best of your days, but importantly your darkest days. Mo recalls some of the most important decision makers being the most vulnerable and lost during the hardest of financial times.

- Building relationships. I am a huge fan of networking with the intent to build and add value first. Mohamed made it his mission moving to the UK last September to meet 5 new faces a week (I was lucky to be one of them this week!) - we both agreed that this is imperative when it comes to raising initial investment. Also why we’re building Table for Ten
Thanks Izzy for connecting us and giving me an awesome founder to meet and write about!
