Breakfast with founders 🥐 Today I met with Peter Wood

Peter is the founder of The Graduate Guide - a podcast that is dedicated to delivering value to anyone who feels lost or confused in their career journey.

(You might recognise Peter from the iconic photos he has with guests opposite the Renaissance Hotel in St Pancras.)

But the podcast is just the tip of the iceberg of what Peter and his co-founder Marlene are building - there's more to come!

We spoke about:

- Building with a purpose. The Graduate Guide started with the idea of providing high-value content to help students navigate their own careers, journeys and careers. That hasn't changed. 

- Stay iconic. Through the consistency of high quality content, the quality of content gets better, the conversation gets better and the guests get more interesting. 

- Understanding and obsessing over your audience to find commercial opportunities that can grow and make a business even more interesting.

- Attracting strategic investors. In other words, invested investors. Those that see a vision and a value. And those that can help immeasurably. 

- Coring up your problem to make it really make sense. It drives an awareness of how the solution can work, how the go to market will function and inevitably how the return on investment might unravel. 

When raising investment, refining a problem helps investors understand better the narrative.
