Is 20:00 too late for breakfast with founders?
Not in Barcelona, it’s not even time for dinner yet!
Great couple days in Barcelona, meeting a few people in the ecosystem and wrapping it up with a good chat over some wine and tapas with 🚀 Domenico Ranucci!
Take time, build relationships, network and spend a little more time than you might find comfortable drinking cups of tea!
We discussed:
- Revisiting traditional industries as new opportunities for startups. Think cleaning, plumbing, HVAC and electricians. These are untouched industries that have not seen a new generation of disruption for 1-2 generations. The opportunities are there for the taking.
- Raising as a founder in the Middle East. Money doesn’t grown on trees and no one’s handing out sacks of cash either. Your behaviour as a founder is key - jumping straight in won’t necessarily do you favours. Take time, build relationships, network and spend a little more time than you might find comfortable drinking cups of tea!
- The rise of solo GPs. Is it too early to tell if this model will provide the returns vs. traditional models? Or are we going to see a huge upside to operator GPs who’ve been there and done that? A true partner to founders.
Now off to Lisbon for our first dinner Table for Ten outside of London! 🇵🇹
